Start with the pack format
Define retail or bulk pack size, material, liner, sealing method, carton requirements, palletisation and any handling constraints. Packaging needs differ substantially across rice, pulses, spices, nuts, seeds and fresh produce.
MOQ can change with customisation
Custom printed film, woven bags, cartons or labels may have their own production minimums. A product MOQ and a packaging MOQ are not always the same, so both should be checked before artwork is finalised.
Artwork and labelling require buyer input
Brand files, product name, net weight, importer details, country-of-origin statements, nutrition or regulatory information may be relevant depending on product and market. The buyer should confirm the destination-specific label requirements.
Approval should happen before production
Use an artwork approval process that checks spelling, dimensions, barcode or label fields where relevant, colours, mandatory statements and pack construction before print or production begins.
Private label is a sourcing workflow
A successful programme aligns product specification, packaging capability, brand requirements, MOQ, lead time and destination rules as one coordinated project.
